During my honour’s degree in Communication and Design at Gray’s School of Art, Robert Gordon University, I initiated a series of four impactful designs in September 2024. These designs were inspired by the bold colours of the football clubs that Aberdonian Denis Law represented. As the project progressed, I decisively incorporated football pitch markings and vintage newspaper cuttings, significantly enhancing the final layout. The culmination of my efforts resulted in a hand-screen-printed final product, with only ten exclusive pieces produced, underscoring the uniqueness of this project.
Denis Law, Scotland’s greatest footballer and a global icon, represented Huddersfield Town, Manchester City, Torino, and Manchester United. The only Scottish winner of the FIFA Ballon d’Or, he shares Scotland’s all-time scoring record (30 goals) with Kenny Dalglish. He also holds Manchester United’s record for most hat-tricks and was part of three record-breaking transfers. Sadly, Denis passed away in January 2025 - “A true great. We will not see his likes again.”
The Ten Limited Edition Screen Prints (16x16 cm) are available to buy by sending an enquiry using the "Hi button". The Denis Law Legacy Trust has taken two sets. One set is being auctioned at the next charity dinner. Another set will be displayed at the Denis Law Legacy Trust offices in Aberdeen.
The 16x16 cm digital prints below are on sale at the EDIT Store in Aberdeen.
