Interim Show Statement
Building on the Beach Clean-Up Portraits and Wellbeing projects I completed during my BA in Photography last year (2024), I am excited to expand my social documentary expertise and explore found objects within my photography practice, recording what the world looks like with a social or environmental focus.
In 2025, I will undertake two significant visual projects that reflect my passion and commitment. The first project will document the construction of the Denis Law Trail in the Printfield area of Aberdeen, the childhood home of the legendary footballer Denis Law.  The second will capture the vibrant atmosphere of the Errol Market, Scotland’s largest permanent indoor and outdoor car boot site, located between Dundee and Perth, focusing on the intriguing found objects and the diverse characters who frequent it. I will also explore Steptoe’s Yard in St Cyrus, a treasure trove of found objects that reveal their rich histories.
These projects are integral to my dissertation, “An Interrogation of Ownership: Second-Hand Cultures Through the Photographic Lens,” showcasing my dedication to understanding the narratives behind possessions.
