Murals

The creation of the Printfield 10 murals began as a concept five years ago by Derek McKechnie, a student of Communication Design at Grays School of Art, Robert Gordon University. Over time, this idea evolved through collaborative efforts with the Denis Law Legacy Trust and Aberdeen City Council, culminating in a rapid, twenty-one-day production phase in March 2025. Australian artist Jerome Davenport, known for his expertise in photorealistic murals, brought the concept to life. Jerome's company, Blank Walls—based in both Perth, Australia, and London—guided the development of the project. Additionally, local Aberdeen artist Charlie Kelman played a pivotal role, adding a significant creative dimension to the murals. This project underscores the power of collaboration, uniting artists, the Denis Law Legacy Trust, Aberdeen City Council, Fine Day design studios, and local Printfield community coordinators to create a lasting artistic impact.
